Our 2025 Top 10 Christmas Wishlist Items
When you give toward our year end giving, your donation goes to help fund our 2026 general budget - which includes the 10 highlighted things below (+ so much more)! Scroll on down to see how your donation will be spent & impact lives in Eswatini & let us know if you have any questions!
10 acres of bean seeds
$1000
Our farm employs 35+ local people - mostly growing beans on approximately 112 acres to feed kids at our community centers and sell to Swazi stores and companies. Not only are we providing affordable food locally, but we are providing local jobs so that parents can be home with their kids each night instead of having to work far away & travel home once a month or once every few months.
9 days of Equipping seminars to build healthy Individuals
$500 Per Seminar
We know that healthy individuals build healthy families, which build healthy churches, which overflow into healthy communities! Our holistic ministry seeks to pour into people of all ages & walks of life. In 2026, our hope is to have 2 Equipping Seminars for our volunteers/staff, 3 Life Skills Seminars for adults, and 4 Bible/Spiritual Growth Seminars. We provide materials and a meal for each of these equipping days.
8 Bicycles for High school Students
$150 Each
We are working with 8 high school boys from our community center who approached us about helping them buy bicycles so that they can get to school more quickly. Currently, they are leaving at dawn to walk the 6+ miles one way to school, and then walking back at the end of the day, often getting home in the dark & then having to do chores before studying. They are volunteering as the “Wetsembekile Work Crew” for the next 2 months to keep the weeds down at our community centers to earn their bicycles, helmets & flashing reflectors.
7 Meters of cords & a projector
$1500
As we continue with our Adult Bible Studies, Children’s Discipleship Programs, and Equipping Seminars, we are finding it more necessary to have a projector that we can use for large gatherings. Paper on the wall & a sharpie has worked so far, but for larger groups & to show movies like the Jesus Film, we need a projector. At this point, none of our community centers has electricity, so we will be running cords to a nearby homestead or a generator.
6 Days per week of farm worker wages
$375 per week
In 2026, we anticipate spending approximately $15,000 on wages for those who work on our farm. These workers work about 10 months per year, 6 days a week. We provide them with a fair wage & easier hours compared to surrounding farms. Plus we provide a safe working environment, discipleship & life skills opportunities during working hours, and discounts on the beans we grow.
5 Boxes of Bibles
$200 per box
Swazi people are hungry for the Word, and our hope & goal is that each believer would have a Bible in their heart language of Siswati. We have achieved our first goal of having a Bible for each homestead, but now it’s time to focus on individual believers.
4 Full Time Farm Employees
$900 per month
We are so thankful for God’s provision through leaders in 2025! We hired our farm manager as well as 2 crew supervisors to oversee the farm workers. We also continued to employ our operations crew leader. These 4 people work full time all year round and are essential for the ministry & work of Wetsembekile! Our hope in 2026 is to give each of them a small raise and guaranteed 12 months of employment.
3 Bible Fun Days
$1000 Each
One of the highlights of each year at our community centers are our Bible Fun Days! Imagine a Swazi fall festival/carnival that is centered around celebrating the word of God. Kids & teenagers come for a full day of rotating through games, activities & Bible lessons. They get a special meal & a t-shirt for the day.
2 Preschool field trips
$300 Each
In 2025, we took the preschoolers from our free community center preschool on a field trip. We plan on doing 2 per year to help our kids experience the world outside of their small home area. Due to the extreme poverty, parents aren’t able to contribute to the day, aside from sending a snack for their child, so Wetsembekile covers the cost of transportation & a meal out during the field trip.
1 week of camp selah
$15,000
Imagine a place where orphaned & vulnerable kids from Eswatini can just be kids, at camp, learning about Christ, surrounded by Christian community! God first laid this dream on our hearts in 2016, and here we are 10 years later ready to have our first annual week of Camp Selah! Our land isn’t developed yet for holding the camp onsite, but we know kids are hungry for Christ, so we are going to be holding camp off-site for the first few years until we can have it at our own camp! For 2026, we will have 40-50 students (grades 5-7) come with us for 5 days of church camp! Because of the poverty in Eswatini, their fees/contributions will be minimal, and we will cover most of the cost of the week of camp.
